Alex Stamp is set to wow listeners with her stunning voice and heartfelt lyrics with her debut single, ‘Won The War’. A track that is packed with beautiful melodies and calming acoustic guitar.

‘Won The War’

The inspiration from the track came from a rough time Alex had with someone very close to her. She’d written endless amounts of songs about the situation – and she decided that this would be the last one.

When going into the recording session at Rockfield, Alex was hesitant to record ‘Won The War’. She’d recorded a demo version, but something wasn’t quite right for her as it didn’t have the same folk sound as her other material. However, Nick Brine (Producer) convinced Alex to go ahead with it after hearing her and the band jamming in the coach house studio – and then ‘Won The War’ was born.

Won The War’ is due for release through OMLSync & AWAL, and will be on all streaming platforms on 22nd January 2021.

Who Is Alex Stamp?

Singer-songwriter, Alex Stamp, hailing from the beautiful Hampshire countryside, started her musical career at the age of 19 as the lead singer of J-Pop band ‘Industrial Salt’. The band was signed to Sony Japan – and they had a single that went all the way to number 3 in the charts, they embarked on three successful tours of Japan back in 2005. Fast forward a few years – Alex was specially flown back for a one-off solo performance in 2013.

Following her ventures into J-Pop – Alex went onto join the Indie/Electro band ‘Take Aim Fire’ as a synth player and vocalist. The band has numerous successful UK tours under their belt, and various TV syncs and radio plays with BBC Introducing and 6Music.

Now, in 2021 – Alex Stamp is focussing on her solo career. Since recently signing a publishing deal with OML Sync, she’s already landed her first placement with a series on Netflix – and the sky’s the limit with her new music.

She takes a lot of influence from her love of the outdoors, and as a lifelong insomniac – Alex uses many of her sleepless nights to work on music. With many references to this noted in her songs, her melancholy style reflects her love of bands such as The NationalBears Den and Bon Iver.

Her first solo EP, ‘Every Wave That Breaks’, is due for release early this year. She worked with producer, Nick Brine, on the tracks whilst recording them at her home away from home – Rockfield Studios.
