2023 is on the edge of the horizon and what a great year 2022 has been for new music and upcoming artists!
This year was momentous in music, including releases from some of the industry’s biggest names breaking multiple Billboard records. Some emerging artists landed deals at major record labels, while others made their stamp on the industry independently. With that in mind, we want to shout out some rising artists that look to soar up the rankings in 2023.
Each year, we turn to our staff here at Music Gateway to list artists and bands we think are going to climb up the music industry ladder in 2023. Before we get into it, let’s take a look at some of the other top picks from the industry.
This year, London-based vocal harmony group FLO won the prestigious Brits rising star award which previously tipped artists including Adele, Florence + the Machine and Sam Fender. With only 4 singles and a debut EP under their belts, FLO are set to break the girl group mould and are planning to release their debut album in 2023.
VEVO’s DSCVR 2023 artists to watch include: Ice Spice, Armani White, thuy, Wesley Joseph piri & tommy, GloRilla, flowerovlove, Ethel Cain, Ayra Starr, Oxlade, Tananai.
BBC Sounds of 2023 have also tipped these artists for a huge 2023: Asake, Biig Piig, Cat Burns, Dylan, Fred Again, Gabriels, Nia Archives, Dylan, Rachel Chinouriri.
We’ve had the pleasure of working with some incredibly talented artists and bands this year and we gave our staff the tricky task of choosing their artists to watch in 2023.
