Bands Under The Radar, the best way to find unsigned & exciting music!!

Today’s feature is based around a website known as Bands Under the Radar or BUTR for short, which is a website that we all at Music Gateway know and love! Bands Under the Radar is a music podcast and blog founded in 2004 that features mostly unsigned and indie artists.

They hand-pick songs strong in melody, vocals, and songwriting in all genres but mostly with flavours of Americana, Pop, Rock ‘n’ Roll, and Singer-Songwriter. They have released 7 themed music samplers available at digital retail, which you can buy from the link below. These albums are filled with the music that is mentioned above, so you know it’ll be good.

We have some personal favs from what we’ve heard such as Angel Snow, but we can’t actually think of any of the acts that BUTR has introduced us to, that we don’t like, so we think you’ll love them too.

The owner of this wonderful site, is Kami Knake who has spent the last 15 years working in the entertainment business clocking most of her time at major label Warner Bros Records, talent agency for the Performing Arts (APA), and The Viper Room, which is a famous club in LA

During her 4 years at Warner Bros, Knake worked with a diverse roster of artists, comedians, and film/TV soundtracks such as Michael Buble, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks, Mute Math, Eisley, Muse, Depeche Mode, Faith Hill, Ocean’s Twelve, Nashville Star, and The O.C. So you know she has an incredible taste in music and TV show’s which is why we think you’ll love her podcasts / albums / website etc.

To provide a bit of background about the website, BUTR podcasts have been downloaded over 4 million times, growing its grassroots fan base by introducing true music lovers to the best bands and songs that they have yet to hear.
