We caught up with EmuBands to find out more about their service, what they provide and to look at the clear benefits for independents in the industry.
EmuBands formed in 2005 with the aim of providing an efficient, affordable and easy-to-use digital music distribution service for artists and record labels to sell music online.
EmuBands is a powerful, simple, low-cost digital music distribution service that allows artists and record labels to get their music on the World’s leading digital retailers like iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Music, 7 Digital, Deezer and many others, for just a simple, one-time fee. Artists don’t have to pay any renewal charges to keep their music on sale, and receive ongoing support from your named account manager. This one-time fee also includes distribution to all retailers that they add in the future.
We asked some questions to the Emu team, and here is what we found out!
EmuBands has a simple pricing structure – we charge a one-off fee for distribution, and return 100% of the royalties. You know exactly how much we are going to cost, and can rest assured that you won’t be charged any fees in the future while receiving all royalties you make on your music.
A. No, we are definitely Scottish!
We are working towards a new admin area for our customers, which will be ready in the near future. EmuBands labels and artists will see a real difference inside their accounts, with new features such as direct links to contracts where their music is on sale, and improved analytics when viewing royalty earnings. We have been gathering feedback from our customers over the past months and we are taking this into consideration for the new developments.
A. EmuBands provide a powerful and simple tool to allow artists and labels to get their music online. This mirrors Music Gateway’s service, providing a great simple tool to connect artists and industry professionals, globally. Both platforms save the user time and money, and equally help them to take the next steps in their music careers.

EmuBands let you stay in control, providing you with 24/7 access to your royalties with you being able to request payment at any time, with no minimum threshold. EmuBands won’t take a percentage of your royalties and will pass on to the user 100% of the royalties paid by retailers for your sales. You’re able to select the retail outlets you want your music to go on, then your release will stay on these outlets until you tell them to remove it – with no take down fees, making you stay in control of your music with EmuBands.
Despite charging just a one off fee, EmuBands are always there to offer ongoing support and advice whenever the customer needs it. They assign you with a named account manager that you can speak to over the phone, via e-mail or by live chat. As well as providing advice on issues specifically related to the users release, they also offer general music industry advice drawing from their wealth of experience.
To help the user maximise their release, EmuBands offer a range of additional services to help them get the most from their release, like registering it for the Official Charts in the UK, USA, Canada and Ireland. Don’t forget to check out their website!
