The brand new track from rising pop band Friends Like These, ‘Break Up Weather‘ tackles emotions that everyone goes through. Exploring the complex emotions following the end of a relationship. This love letter to 80s Pop has already struck a chord with its listeners, many of who are sharing their own breakup stories strengthened by ‘Break Up Weather‘.
Written and recorded by the band in-house, ‘Break Up Weather‘ was produced by lead vocalist Ali Garner whose breathtakingly warm vocals sit perfectly atop the uplifting musical backdrop. Evoking 80s nostalgia throughout, backed by driving bass, dreamy synths – all underpinned with refreshingly modern guitars.
Formed in 2018, Friends Like These are a UK band, with a twist. Carving their way through the Pop genre, FLT makes modern feel-good music with an 80s soul undertone.
With history and chemistry unlike any other, the five friends first started performing together back in 2015. Under a different alias at the time the quintet would hone their musicianship, taking their refined and precise live performances around the country.
In 2016 the band were chose to open for British Pop/Soul legends; Simply Red, on their Big Love Stadium Tour, performing at the Emirates International Stadium.
Inspired by new and old artist such as The Weeknd, Charlie Puth, Bruno Mars and The 1975. Friends Like These sit at the crossroads between Contemporary Pop and 80s Synth Pop-Rock. With a musical range that spans across different eras, from the Disco Pop sheen of ‘The Queen‘ to the modern stylish strut in ‘Danger Us‘ and all-out Pop-Rock of lead single ‘Good Time‘.
Like many artists in 2020, FLT started out the year scheduling the release of new material, as well as planning and rehearsing for their live shows. Unfortunately, when the pandemic hit, their plans fell apart. Always finding new & creative ways to innovate, the band recorded and filmed a series of new cover songs. The band hopes to bring people together during lockdown & to connect with their fans across the globe. FLT’s acclaimed ‘Lockdown Sessions’ are a collection of songs from the present time. It wasn’t long before FLT’s video content went viral, with one of their sessions (a mashup of The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Lights‘ and A-Ha‘s ‘Take On Me‘) exceeding well over 1.5 million views.
