It’s a simple track. Always sitting in the middle way and doing just enough, never too much. With its uplifting message and direct delivery, the work wastes no time in its presence.

Invincible

The first thing I notice on my initial listen is the attention to the sound design. The compositional style and delivery of the track could easily suit a simpler sound. However, this track is more than an intimate expression. Rather, ‘Invincible’ is an anthem and arrives as such.

Instrumental decoration comes in different forms. Filtered and distorted electronic sounds litter the mix. Subdued drum sounds push against the low pass, and in turn push the track forwards. The repeated falling tones colour the harmonic state. While electric piano droplets reinforce the cadential vocal lead.

Full sounding paino chords enter the mic to support variations in the melody. Building tension before launching into the more thematic sections.

At its peak we see the chorus filled with arpeggiated synthesisers, string-like strikes and charging drums. A fuzzy guitar comes in with a counter melody as the focal line ‘I’m invincible’ is echoed.

The track is anthemic mantra for anyone who hears it. Well executed and performed with heart, there is little that this track does not say for itself.

Alexander Joseph

Alexander Joseph has spent the majority of his life juggling his two passions of music and sport. As a musician he cut his teeth performing on the open mic scene in Bath, whilst touring the UK with a university formed covers band. Since then he’s gone on to release several tracks in support of various sports and educational charities and has made appearances at some major sporting events.

Before pursuing these musical adventures he spent time competing on the international tennis circuit, but has more recently been found working across a variety of Olympic and Paralympic sports as a fitness coach. He is now embracing the challenge of writing new material alongside a busy family life and his role with British wheelchair tennis.”
