Electro-pop infused tunes, funky bass, and a self-loving performer. There’s nothing not to love about Keira Moran and her newest track ‘Good At This’.

Who is Keira Moran?

Keira Moran‘s singer/songwriter journey began at a 3rd grade piano concert in a little music store, where she debuted her timeless hits ‘Halloween’ and ‘Chicken Burrito’. Despite rave reviews from Keira’s parents and grandparents alike, she claims her songwriting talent has developed in leaps and bounds since then.

Born and raised outside of Washington D.C. in Alexandria, VA, Keira studied at the Frost School of Music. She sang as an apprentice of Graham Edwards (Grammy-nominated member of ‘The Matrix’, the songwriting and recording team with a repertoire ranging from Rihanna and Britney Spears to Busted, Christina Aguilera, and many more). Graham truly solidified Keira’s passion for “the business”. From then, she knew exactly what she wanted to do.

In June 2011, Keira won the International Smashtune Songwriting Contest for her song ‘When I’m With You’. The grand prize was a trip to the Kauai Music Festival where she met her first songwriting role models, Jason Blume and Ralph Murphy.

Keira’s released her debut album ‘Wondergirl’ in November 2011. The following year, she wrote the score for the short film ‘American Financial’, which won multiple industry awards.

Keira boasts the perfect versatile pop voice – capable of belting an EDM banger or slowing down for a soulful slow number. A true electro-pop fan at heart, Keira injects each song with her fun-loving personality and lively lyrical style.

Keira moved to Los Angeles after graduating in August 2017. She now spends her time writing songs for artists around the world.

‘Good At This’

‘Good At This’ is an anthem about feeling confident and sexy in your own body. With a catchy bassline and powerhouse vocals, it oozes cool self-assurance.

Keira wrote the track relatively quickly, knowing from the beginning that she wanted it to be more minimal and bassline focused.

She collaborated with her friend and fellow songwriter Charles Horin who came up with the track’s signature funky bass line. Keira then wrote the lyrics and took it to her producer Carter Soso to flesh out.

“I was recalling an interaction when I felt confident and sexy,” she says. “I hope whoever hears this track will want to dance along and feel confident in themselves!”

‘Good at This’ is the first single from Keira Moran’s new album. Don’t be tricked by its more acoustic feel – Keira kicks it up a notch in the chorus, driving it with the funky bass and cowbell. This song signals a more confident and sensual era in Keira’s musical journey; it practically demands you to move your hips as you listen.

“My new songs are about the confidence I’ve gained while living in LA the past few years, and the relationships I’ve experienced,” Keira says. “I hope these songs will make my listeners feel empowered and badass while still allowing themselves to be vulnerable.”

‘Good at This’ is out now on all streaming platforms. The full album will be released in October 2020. Listen here on Spotify!
