With a stunning authentic sound, fiercely independent blues/rock guitarist Kip Macklejar has just released his fourth creation ‘Headphones On’ out now. With a sweet and simple message behind it, Kip will give us his take on a feeling we all have had at some point or another.

What you hear with ‘Headphones On’

‘Headphones On’ is Kip Macklejar’s newest release – a simple and smooth affair, it tells the story of waking up hungover and the journey of going out to grab your morning coffee. It dives into the feelings and inner thoughts of having your headphones and sunglasses on, trying your best to avoid human interaction but still being forced into it anyway.

‘Headphones On’ is mainly built on big, ripping guitars, a catchy and rhythmic drum arrangement, as well as psychedelic, inspired vocals. Kip’s lyrics are all dipped in a pool of satire. Giving the entire piece a very unique and catchy sound.

Born and raised near London, Kip moved to his mother’s home town of Copenhagen with the intent of working for a record label. After a brief stint working for a record label, he became discouraged by what was going on around him.

During his time in Copenhagen Kip met another English singer who was looking to start a band. After seeing what Kip had to offer the singer asked him to join his band as lead guitarist. With great determination, the band ended up signing a production deal and toured with a number of bands including The Blue Van, Cadillac Three and many others. Unfortunately, stemming a number of areas beyond his control, the band fell apart. Kip decided to go his separate way.

During the wake of this difficult time in Kip’s life, a new project bloomed to life. Now, he begins as an independent artist continually striving to master his craft, creating music that he likes in an attempt to keep rock alive and kicking.
