A unique blend of energy and subdued ease. Every instrument in the track sits so perfectly and effortlessly in the pocket to create one combined movement.

L’estate mi rende felice

Gentle but driving percussion opens the track with a slight hello from the bass section. These constant subdivisions take the atmosphere conjured by the arrangement and control its flavour expertly.

The gently played guitar arpeggios and smooth vocal delivery could easily join to create an almost ballad-like pop track. However, the rhythm section maintains its at-ease intensity. This avoids a slower, more downtempo reception of the song. Its tastefulness is found in its performance.

Though constant and pushing the rhythmic elements forward, it stays dynamically controlled. Keeping the opening verse and introductory sections in restraint, with an almost track-long crescendo of textured development.

Across the track, new sounds are introduced and removed to create a dynamic response and flow within the works’ minimalist structure. These sounds often sit on the edge of consonance and dissonance. Maintaining a colourful intrigue while harmonically reinforcing the already present sounds. This type of sound design creates a deeper mix and shows off the sophisticat4ed approach to production and composition present across the song.

With some slight examination, you can hear each instrument slowly become more embellished and complex. Though never becoming overly decorative, this inspires an emotional weight to the music. With the particularly charged vocal delivery leading the way with cues of lifts and turns, L’estate mi rende felice creates and expertly controls a rising and evocative air of suspense for grand musical effect.

The track has energy, musicality and compositional awareness in abundance. It’s an easy listen, but an immersive one. With excellent performance and conviction on all accounts, L’estate mi rende felice is a work worth noting.
