Capturing the feeling of falling in love for the first time ‘In My Arms’, is delicate, soaked in an atmosphere of clear and mythical sounds.

The studio experimentation showcases gentle guitar strings and popular chord progressions, underpinned by a traditional Malaysian flavour evoked from the home of Mahsuri fable. The song features rising starts Badrish and Irena Taib of The Impatient Sisters.

“In a distressing world, we wanted to create a track that could take listeners back to a much simpler time where the answers were in nature, and heightened romance was what fuelled the world. “Whilst the song and its story are Malaysian, we believe that the themes of unconditional love speak loud, transcending borders.” – Liver & Lung.

Who Are Liver & Lung?

Liver & Lung are an award-winning international production company, founded in 2014 by best friends Shafeeq Shajahan and Hannah Shields. With Malaysian and British roots, Liver & Lung champion a global aesthetic, combining world ideas and concepts to develop fringe musicals, plays, and events internationally. The pair borrow from each other’s cultures to make sense of the world and promote stories of universal acceptance, understanding and love.

Stylistic and didactic, Liver & Lung aim to immerse audiences in experiences that champion the unheard, instil faith in human empathy and promote liberal beliefs. They hope to represent the voices of our generation and seek to move and inspire with strong emotions and thought-provoking ideas.

In 2017, the duo won the BOH Cameronian Award for Innovation in Musical Theatre and was also shortlisted for the Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award.

Liver & Lung promises to deliver guttural and passionate theatrical experiences, pushing the boundaries of the current dramatic convention from London to Kuala Lumpur.
