The Swiss with Colombian roots, Loco Escrito, is set to release his heartfelt Latin-pop anthem ‘Triste‘ on the 30th October 2020.
After separating from his girlfriend, Loco Escrito wrote ‘Triste‘ as a way to process the split and cope with his emotions. It’s always tough to deal with any separation in life, especially when you are the one to blame for the relationship not lasting – and that’s what he was going through at the time.
A Latin inspired anthem ‘Triste‘ conveys the message that no matter what happens, life goes on – even though there may be a lot of pain and suffering to go through, you will be able to survive.
Loco Escrito is the stage name of Nicolas Herzig, as Swiss-Colombian musician whose work ranges from uncompromising Spanish language hip-hop to smooth, romantic reggaeton-pop.
Hailing from Medellin, Columbia, Loco Escrito moved to Switzerland at the tender age of 6 months. During his time there he would co-found Swiss-Latino rap crew LDDC (Los Diablos del Cielo) in 2004, contributing Spanish vocals along with English vocalist Third Eye and Dj G-RaZ. The group achieved their biggest success with 2010’s ‘RimaSSafaR‘, which reached the Top 50 of the Swiss albums chart.
After LDDC disbanded in 2012 Loco set out on his own, releasing the rap EP ‘Mi Vida‘ and the more pop-oriented single ‘Mujer Fantasia‘ in 2013. However, Loco’s solo musical success story wouldn’t begin until 2017 with the release of romantic Latin pop single ‘Sin Ti‘, his first single to go platinum and his biggest hit to date. Following that he had two more smash hits in 2018 with the double-platinum ‘Adiós‘ and platinum ‘Mi Culpa‘, and in 2019 was just as successful after he released ‘Punto‘ – which also went platinum and has almost reached 7 million streams on Spotify alone.
