Ahh, that crazy time of year again when the world’s music industry immigrates to the south of France for 4 days at one of the greatest music conferences around – MIDEM.
If you’re not quite sure what MIDEM is:
“MIDEM is the essential relationship broker of the music industry, providing the full toolkit to forge business connections, promote music at an international level, sign deals and discover the upcoming trends, talent and services that will shape the future of music.”
Cannes, the French Riviera…It all sounds like a vacation. But it’s not. We’ll be sending our team down there to meet with some of the top music publishers, supervisors, brands and record labels.
Meet the team that’s going down:
Sophie Small – Our Heavenly Head of Operations
Laurence Malpass – Our Noteworthy Network Manager
And yes, the big boss himself:
Jon Skinner – CEO and Founder.
MIDEM is a well known and respected music industry networking event and we are honoured to be taking part in the event in front of the carefully selected panel of industry professionals namely BMI, Sony Music, Disney Music Group, Kobalt and representatives from Pandora, and several high-profile venture capital firms. MIDEM is one of our busiest times of the year. The team cram their schedules and come back with some amazing opportunities for you guys, our loyal members. With 5,500 participants, 694 exhibitors, 237 artists, 93 conferences, 75 countries and 35 national pavilions the fun packed 4 day event is sure to cover all the big issues affecting the music industry. From music business, to tech pros and brands. The event is aimed at all players from across the international music ecosystem.
Jon will also be talking on the ‘Crowdsourcing Community Is Music To The Ears’ panel which will take place on Friday the 3rd of June from 10:30 – 11:30. Other panelists include: Ben Aronsten, Chief Marketing Officer, Seedrs (UK); Jean-Christophe Morisseau, Co-Founder, Newvelle Records (France); Molly Neuman, Head of Music, Kickstarter (USA); all moderated by Paul Brindley, CEO from Music Ally (UK).
