The first release from Ntantu in over a year sees him go back to his Congolese roots with Afro-Rap fusion record, ‘Pressure (Oh My Goodness)’. The track narrates a story of trying to resist the temptation of peer pressure.

Pressure

With production coming from long-time friend Thai Guy and co-produced by Ntantu himself, ‘Pressure (OhMy Goodness)’ is part of a larger narrative taken from his upcoming debut album, ‘NOW’. The album features writing efforts from Grammy Award-winning producer Glen Scott. Plus, features BBC presenter Sanchez Payne, Huddersfield rapper Prince Omari and Leicester native Shanesa. ‘Pressure (Oh My Goodness)’ will be released on all major digital platforms on the 12th of February 2021, having already received spins on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6Music, as well as being added to the Flex FM playlist.

“The hook came from an old saying my mum used to tell me when I was following the wrong crowd . She would say “If your friends jumped off a bridge, would you follow?”

Who Is Ntantu?

Hailing from Leeds, Ntantu is a UK Rap & RnB artist fusing his sound with African Diaspora inspired music. Ntantu has spent the last 3 years touring as a support act with fellow Leeds native Danny-T. In 2020, they were both set to make their Glastonbury Festival debut before the event was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Ntantu has also received hefty radio play after catching the attention of Apple Beats1 DJ Charlie Sloth, and championed by BBC 1Xtra’s DJ Target. Over the years, he has made a name for himself as a standout performer. Most notably being billed on the same line ups as the likes of Young T & Bugsey, Becky Hill, Ms Banks, Wiley, Lethal Bizzle, Wretch 32, and D Double E to name a few.

More recently, Ntantu has been busy with writing and releasing his first short film, “Flight”, which was nominated for an award at the Leeds Film Festival 2019. Ntantu is dedicated to putting Leeds on the map in the UK music scene and starred in a video campaign for the bid to make Leeds the 2023 European City of Culture.
