Having been an in-demand session bassist since the ’70s, Sandy McKnight has now teamed up with pop guru Fernando Perdomo. Putting their years of musical experience together to create ‘Any Time of Day’ – Out Now.

‘Any Time of Day’ – A Hit After Its Time

Sandy’s latest release comes in the form of a six-song EP ‘San Fernando Beat’. An amazing power pop release which was co-produced by Fernando Perdomo who did a masterful job co-producing the record. Having also played the drums, guitars and keys on the EP his contributions to the lead song ‘Any Time of Day’ should not be sold short.

An amazing track, ‘Any Time of Day’ is a song that carries a simple message. Utilising Sandy’s soulful voice with a radio-friendly melody and chiming guitars, the song does an amazing job on getting the listeners hooked. Having been released in another time ‘Any Time of Day’ would have been a hit.

Who is Sandy McKnight?

Producer, Songwriter and Musician, Sandy is a veteran of the music industry, with over 40 years of experience. In the ’70s he worked as a live and studio session bassist and has played with several New York-based bands such as Numbers, The Coupons, Spitfire Boys, The Truants and many others.

By the 1980s, Sandy made a name for himself as an amazing session player, working with some of the top-name artists at the time. Whilst also continuing to be a part of many successful bands.

Whilst working in the studio he was given the opportunity to work with some of the top producers at the time. Todd Rundgren, Jean-Yves Labatt and Joel Diamond being some of them. During this time Sandy learned the ropes of what it takes to be a producer and began trying his hand at producing records himself.

After moving to L.A Sandy saw great success in his producing career as he continued to hone his craft. He also saw growth in his solo career as an artist after releasing his debut solo album ’12XME’ which was released to critical acclaim.

Sandy would continue to write and produce his own material well into the early 2000s with many of his songs being featured on TV shows and films. Never afraid to dive into the unknown Sandy has produced many songs across several genres. From Latin-tinged jazz-pop to British-flavored power pop.
