Ethereal reverberation gently rises in the mix. Slight noise from a filtered delay brings waves of depths to the simplest of tones. This track is an emotionally charged narrative told through poetic simplicity.
The sparkling clean guitar holds steady as it descends through minor-laden voicings. A simple loop that becomes increasingly familiar as the sounds around it cascade into a textured underlay of tone. As the track progresses, the main motif is altered and changes form.
Suddenly becoming darker and more pristine, it slowly degrades with more coloured and complex voice variations. This is its way of making an exit and a statement at once. Being so clean and isolated, the weight of the track leans entirely on this one element. As such the qualities in the chord tones are more relevant and the delivery more sensitively received.
This change is balanced excellently as the guitar rings out and fades away before the track explodes into an emotion post-rock section. Channelling the likes of Mogwai, we’re met with pounding embellished drums and persistent basslines. The lead guitar stays particular simplistic and allows its voice to carry its presence and delivery. Distorted and modulated for a soaring effect, the lead presents accessibly diatonic melodic phrases that reinforce the weight felt in the first half of the track, but with new heart and drive.
See into Me is a brilliant example of a little doing a lot. Very basic compositional methods and performative techniques are combined into one heartfelt and charged output.
“This is my music, this is what I do, what I do better, the thing in which I put all myself. I record my music on my own at home and I also enjoy very much mixing it. I don’t need lyrics, or rather I’ve not been able to make the ones I’ve written match with my music. So all I have are these instrumental works, in which I persist in a way that sometimes even surprises myself.”
