It’s time for the story of one of our biggest sync successes to date! Needless to say, we can hardly contain our excitement. A massive congratulations goes to Pop Up Music on a placement for their catalogue in season 3 of the popular Amazon Prime show ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’.
It’s a great honour to hear one of our member’s music on such a high-profile show with millions of viewers. Make sure to check out the song by Lily Chao: Picking Tea Leaves and Catching Butterflies, which will feature in episode 4 of the latest season.
It seems like fate that Lily Chao’s music should make its way into a show about stand up comedy when she found her success through cabaret. The cabaret industry was in full swing when she started her career. Her efforts in the cabaret immediately attracted producers‘ attention and soon earned her a reputation!
If you haven’t had the chance to watch the show yet, here’s what it’s about:
“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is a 60-minute dramedy that centers on Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a sunny, energetic, sharp, Jewish girl. A woman of her time, Midge is a cheerleader wife to a man who dreams of a stand-up comedy career. However her perfect life is upended when her husband suddenly leaves her for another woman. Utterly unprepared, Midge is left with no choice but to reevaluate her life. When she accidentally stumbles onto the stage at a nightclub, she discovers her own comedic skills and decides to use this newfound talent to help her reinvent her life. The series follows the trajectory of Midge’s journey as she pursues a career in the male-dominated, stand-up comedy profession.” – IMDB
