Music Publishers Association set to discover the next generation of film-music composers with ‘My Music in the Movies’ sync talent competition for 11-18-year-olds

Ever wondered how this could be possible?
During these unsettling times, the MPA wants to celebrate, champion and inspire amazing songwriting, whilst opening the eyes of young songwriters to the world of film and TV music. With the ‘My Music in the Movies’ competition, all budding songwriters of secondary school age (between the ages of 11-18) will have the opportunity to receive direct feedback from a panel of fantastic Music Publishers Association members.
Creatives will be able to exercise their talent working towards a contemporary pop/indie music brief in the form of either lyrics only, music and lyrics or music only to explore the full breadth of their skills. All entrants work will be judged by music supervision executives, including from Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Warner Chappell Music, Bucks Music Group, Downtown Music Publishing and Peermusic.
Fantastic partners Music Gurus and Rotor Videos also providing the wonderful opportunities of musical skill development and video production, respectively. Participants will have the chance to really hone their talent and visualise their sync submissions through these collaborations.
Music learning, music-making and music video production are no longer out of reach at home as the MPA and partners are delighted to make these facilities available for free to all our young music makers (ages 11-18), at the touch of a button. The MPA believes that young people can experience no greater escapism (particularly now) and no richer personal development, than embracing their budding musical talent – inclusively, for every young creator.
