With the release of Honey: Rise Up and Dance, we’re pleased to announce that the song: Work You Out, placed in the film was the result of a successful Sync arranged by Music Gateway.
Working in partnership with Universal, Lugo Music Publishing and Peermusic LTD, we were able to provide a fantastic track from long-time Music Gateway member, Tyler Shamy. Work You Out was written by Tyler, Tova Litvin, Luigie Gonzales, Keaton Stromberg, Michael “Kustom” Polk and Spencer Sutherland, who also performed on the track.
The film tells the story of aspiring street dancer Skyler (Teyana Taylor) at a major crossroads in her life. She’s decided to try-out for the same dance crew as her formally trained sister Tosha (Sierra McClain) in order to compete for a college scholarship, but is discouraged by her family and boyfriend who doubt that her raw, edgy talent is enough for her to win. Determined to prove them all wrong, Skyler practices nonstop in Atlanta’s underground dance scene and catches the eye of Tyrell (Bryshere Y. Gray).
Taking point on this project Sync Manager, Lucas Iliev said:
“This was a fantastic project to work on and we’re really happy for Tyler, Spencer and the other writers getting their track into a major motion picture. We’re also hugely grateful to the guys at Lugo and Peermusic and everyone else involved. This is what Music Gateway is all about, working with all aspects of the industry and achieving a great result for all involved.”
Honey: Rise Up and Dance is available now on DVD, Blu-Ray and video on demand services.
