We are pleased to announce that we are supporting PRS for Music Foundation, and their new scheme to help aspiring artists to develop their careers. The Momentum Music scheme has been launch by PRS for Music Foundation and Arts Council England a couple months ago at The Great Escape Festival and received a lot of attention and support from music industry. This includes BBC Radio which will be championing Momentum across their national and digital stations, promoting funding deadlines and signposting successful recipients.
This great programme will award individual grants of £5,000 – £15,000 to between 50-75 artists and bands over the next two years for activities like recording, touring and marketing. Artists eligible to apply are those who create and perform contemporary popular music – including all types of new and emerging genres and also can provide that they are at the right stage of their career and can provide a clear business case for support. Industry professionals like record labels, music managers, music publishers and others can apply on their artist’s behalf, but must detail how funding will drive their career development.
“Momentum is a breakthrough moment for music in England, where it’s now harder than in many other parts of the world for talented artists to access finance. I hope that many of them will enter the application process and use this opportunity to drive their career to the next level.” – commented Vanessa Reed, Executive Director of PRS for Music Foundation.
You still can apply for the scheme as the application deadline is 30th August. Find more information on the PRS for Music Foundation website www.prsformusicfoundation.com.
Please do spread the word, PRS delivers again for aspiring music professionals.
