Scotty Alexander, hailing from Wimberly, TX, is an experienced singer, songwriter and recording artist with over 10,000 live performances under his belt and has been writing and performing music for over a decade. He is best known for his soulful, bluesy style and his music has been featured in films, television shows, and commercials.

Alexander’s music is heavily influenced by blues and soul, and he often incorporates elements of gospel and country into his sound. He is an incredibly versatile artist, and his music has been described as “a melting pot of genres.” His lyrics are deeply personal and reflective, and he often writes about his own experiences.

A Rising Star

Since the age of 6, Scotty has been a world-class studio musician on fiddle, guitar, and banjo. He released his first vinyl record “HERE I COME WORLD” and went on to perform with his band at nightclubs and fairs throughout his teenage years. 

Scotty performed with Mickey Gilley several times at the original Gilley’s in Pasadena, Texas. In 1994, Scotty moved to Las Vegas to co-host an award-winning production show called “Country Tonight.” From 1999 until 2007 he worked for Wayne Newton as a guitarist, fiddle player, banjo player and mandolinist on stage before becoming Mr Newton’s music director.

Scotty and his wife Lisa were given the opportunity to headline their own show in Las Vegas for several years before relocating their family to Nashville. Once there, Scotty was signed by Ray Hamilton at Merf Publishing as a writer/artist and worked with Brian David Willis as a ProTools editor on projects for artists such as Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Darius Rucker, Josh Turner, and Carly Pearce.

From 2013-14 he served as music director for Hollywood recording artist Lucy Hale who made appearances on Ellen, Good Morning America, Kelly and Michael and the Grand Ole Opry.

He continued writing and performing music in local bars and clubs and soon developed a following. He released his first album, “Tell Me What You Want,” in 2009, which was well-received, and went on to release two more albums, “The Road Less Traveled” and “Ain’t No Stranger.”

Alexander has collaborated with many other artists, including John Prine, Willie Nelson, and Keb’ Mo’. He has also performed with a variety of bands, including the Allman Brothers Band, the Zac Brown Band, and the Drive-By Truckers. 

Some of his best songs include “The Other Side of Town”, “Long As I’m Around”, “Highway Home”, “If You Let Me”, “Southern Soul”, “Goodbye”, “My Heart Is Breaking”, “Lonely Road”, “Trouble”, and “Wherever You Go”. He has also toured extensively across the US with his own band, The Scotty Alexander Band.

Alexander continues to write and perform his own unique blend of country and pop music today. He released his most recent album, “The Road Less Traveled,” in 2019, and he is currently working on his next album.
