Daryl Simmons is a Grammy award-winning American songwriter and record producer who has
been involved in the writing and production of numerous hit songs, including Boyz II Men’s “End of the Road,” Mariah Carey’s “Always Be My Baby,” Janet Jackson’s “That’s the Way Love Goes,” Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name,” and TLC’s “No Scrubs.” He has also contributed to projects for Boyz II Men, Babyface, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, and many more.
Daryl Simmons grew up in the small town of Irmo, South Carolina. He was the oldest of three children and was raised by a single mother. His mother was a teacher and encouraged him to pursue his musical ambitions. Simmons began playing the piano at an early age and eventually attended the University of South Carolina, where he studied music.
Simmons’ career began in the mid-1980s when he wrote and produced for New Edition and Bobby Brown.
