For Nuclear Blast we are looking for an GLOBAL SENIOR A&R NUCLEAR BLAST (M/W/D) who is ideally based in the US.

JOB DESCRIPTION

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervises 6 employees within the 1 department.
  • Indirectly supervises 22 employees within the 6 departments.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primary support all A&Rs; provide co-A&R direction on assigned projects to the global team.
  • Oversee the global structure of the A&R team, including defining responsibilities amongst the global A&R team.
  • Actively on the hunt for the next big trend in hard music, digital friendly artists, as well as legacy acts; demonstrate a unique and proven ability to identify new talent that can be a commercially viable asset for the company.
  • Develop strong relationships with all top managements in the business.
  • Communicate effectively with talent, producers, and songwriters, as well as managers.
  • Always be knowledgeable of current and future trends in music, music business, and pop culture.
  • Possess a high degree of credibility and influence inside and outside company.
  • Have the poise, confidence, and talent to help make several albums simultaneously, all at the highest level of quality.
  • Works closely with the Accounting and Finance Department regarding Release Schedule planning and management.
    • Strategically plan and maintain the global Release Schedule that keeps a healthy income ratio throughout the year; react accordingly when releases are delayed.
    • Review/draft and validate with and for the rest of the A&R team financially-sound deal memos, planning and forecasting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have over ten (10) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university is a plus.
  • Proficient on Microsoft Office, particularly computations in Excel, virtual meeting platforms.
  • Must be able and willing to travel.
  • Must have prior management experience and demonstrate a clear talent for understanding, motivating and inspiring our clients, consultants, and staff.
