Bio

Hailing from East London/ Essex, singer songwriter Leonie Sherif, was inspired from a young age by 3 of the reigning 'M's' of the 90's: Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Madonna' (to name but a few)

One of her earliest experiences in music came through a chance opportunity to draft a demo for Rapper 'Wretch32' which she recorded way back in 2008.

From that point on she began to develop her passion for creating music.

Her sound can be loosely described as an eclectic blend of 'Alternative or slightly abstract Electro RnB/ Pop, a sound which seemed to derive from when Leonie began dabbling with production/ making beats in 2016.
After experimenting with Garageband & Ableton loops she ended up drafting a catalogue of demos (some of which made her new EP.)
The process led her to having honed an authentic sound encompassing a unique blend of textural atmospheric & rhythmic content rooted with firm melodies.

Her 1st single release 'Exclusivity has been reviewed as having 'blurred the genres with its psychedelic electronic trappy beats and icy synth stabs correlating with crystal sharp vocals. It is angsty, synth-heavy electronic RnB with a feverish haze of glossy urban rock.'

The NOCTURNAL WAVE EP (released September 2018) features a collection of Melancholic Love Songs & Anthems with Leonie's emotive vocal weaving it's way through tracks laced with ambient synths, sizzling with rhythmic percussion and embellished with her signature airy & layered bv's.

"I've been writing and developing so much new music relentlessly, i can't wait to share what I've been sitting on, it's exciting!"

Leonie received a 2018 'Long-list nomination' from the UMA 'Unsigned Music awards' for the Best Electronic Act, she had her first live radio interview last year on the Beat London's 'Karl tuff enuff Brown & Andy L' radio show.

She's also received support from DJ Spoony, with exclusive plays of her track on 'Rinse FM' and has been featured on numerous online blogs, she featured in 'MusicWeek' publication January 2019

New releases are in store for 2019 (so watch this space!)
