I am a London based neo-soul jazz singer-songwriter. I write and perform original material, co-arranging it with my three piece jazz band (bass, keys, drums, + myself on vocals). We are currently gigging in central London at various venues, including the Blues Kitchen in Camden (previous venues: The Pheasantry: Pizza Express Music Venue, The Finsbury, The Underbelly, The Bedford).
Predominantly, my music revolves around soul-jazz-pop ballads, with funk-neo-soul grooves bringing it all together in a band setting. We have a huge range of influences, from Joss Stone, Norah Jones, and Lianne La Havas to Erykah Badu, Moonchild, Robert Glasper, and Esperanza Spalding. Ideally I am looking for a producer who is knowledgeable of the neo-soul, jazz scene, and able to work with me on creating a debut album/EP that continues this diversity in influences. What I need is someone to help bridge the gap between live performance and studio recording. We have a solid live set up and sound, and now need guidance in how to present that in the best way on a recording.
I am happy to hear from all 'levels'/types of producer. What is most important is a keen ear for the neo-soul, jazz genre, and a passion for working with others. Experience in recording bands in a live setting is great. Having your own studio or access to a decent set up is also very useful. Budget is negotiable. London based is a must.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
