About Hugo Oak
Hugo Oak is a Dutch singer, songwriter and producer whose cinematic-soul sound bridges raw emotion with atmospheric production. With a voice that moves effortlessly between intimate storytelling and powerful gospel-like layering, Oak has carved out a unique place in today’s alternative and sync-driven landscape.
His first solo album “Brightly Dark” (2016, Krooks Records) introduced his hybrid of soul, electronic textures and cinematic storytelling. Shortly after, he became vocalist and key player in “Satori & The Band From Space”, touring the world with standout performances at EXIT Festival, Paradiso, National Sawdust NYC, Volkswagen Arena Istanbul and Five Islands Festival in Beirut. These experiences shaped his stage presence and international outlook, before he returned to focus on his solo career.
In 2025, Oak returned to his own path with “S.M.S.tt.D.” (Sold My Soul to the Devil), released on Quetame Records. The track resonated widely for its intensity and emotional weight, receiving international radio airplay (including Soho Radio and Radio Wigwam), placement in more than 60 independent playlists, and a feature in Rolling Stone UK. The release also caught the attention of sync professionals, leading to referrals within the industry, including BAM Music.
Hugo Oak’s sound; cinematic, soul-driven and vocally layered, has been described as a natural fit for film and television. He blends emotive vocal deliveries with heavy, electronic atmospheres, often creating gospel-like choirs out of his own voice.
Beyond his solo work, Oak also collaborates with Cobenhaven based producer El Mundo under the name “MØHK”, a project rooted in emotive, cinematic dance designed for the dancefloor. Their debut release “I Can Feel Your Heartbeat” (Get Physical, July 2025) showcases another dimension of Oak’s artistry, blending his unmistakable vocals with El Mundo’s refined production.
Alongside his solo and collaborative projects, Oak has also worked with renowned producer Henry Sarmiento, further refining his sound in world-class studio environments.
Now, Oak continues this artistic path with his upcoming single “Notebook”. Where “S.M.S.tt.D.” captured the turmoil of inner conflict, *Notebook* opens a new chapter, one that reflects on grief, transformation and the strength to move forward. The track marks the next step in Hugo Oak’s vision: cinematic-soul with grandeur, honesty and a voice that cuts straight to the heart.
