About The Silent Era
Hailed as 'a remarkable band making extraordinary music' (*The Big Takeover), The Silent Era is a genre-defying alt. rock quartet from London's shadowy underground. Their debut album, 'Wide And Deep And Cold,' 'melds raw intensity with cinematic grandeur, taking listeners on an emotional journey that feels both epic and deeply personal' (**Cage Riot). Formed by musicians from different corners of the world, The Silent Era were drawn together by a shared love of the dark and atmospheric. Drenching their instruments in distortion and reverb, they create heavy, dreamy textures woven through with vulnerable and introspective lyrics.
Vocalist Bri Macanas (Black Palms, The Midnight Vortex, Silhouettes, Light Trails), guitarist Chris Schwarten (Ghost Wives) and multi-instrumentalist but mostly bassist Nicolas Zappa (Ghost Wives) started the band during the pandemic. They were later joined by drummer Jo Eiffes (Perfect Flaws, Silhouettes, Light Trails).
