The THIRTEEN 7

The THIRTEEN 7 could be described as a “Gothic Sade”: beautiful, soulful songs tinged with jazz, folk & blues. Dark yet thought provoking lyrics address themes such as grief & loss, mental health & self worth, plus the odd ghost story too! The first song, “The Shadow and the Light”, has a soft, laidback, Caribbean feel (written whilst holidaying on one of the islands). Beautiful melodies and instrumentation are juxtaposed with a tale of powerlessness: to helplessly witness a loved one spiral downwards as they struggle with their demons, despite all attempts protect or console them. The Shadow and the Light is a fable, a bedtime story: written from a parent to child perspective, but relevant to any loving relationship. The THIRTEEN 7 is a collection of dark, atmospheric and eclectic songs that we feel would be ideal for film, TV or game soundtracks.
