Who is Mutya Buena?

Mutya Buena

The name Mutya Buena is a pop icon. She has countless UK number 1s, platinum albums & tracks with Groove Armada & the late George Michael. In 2019 The Guardian named Mutya one of the Greatest Girl Band Members ever; coming second only to Beyonce!

Mutya Buena is a British singer and songwriter. She rose to fame as a member of the girl group Sugababes, along with Keisha Buchanan and Siobhán Donaghy. She left the group in 2005 and has since released two solo albums, Real Girl in 2007 and the self-titled Mutya Buena in 2009. Buena was born in London, England to a Filipino father and an English mother.

She began her career as a member of the Sugababes in 2001 and was featured on the group’s first three studio albums, One Touch (2001), Angels with Dirty Faces (2002), and Three (2003). She left the group in 2005 and released her first solo album, Real Girl, in 2007. The album featured the singles “Real Girl” and “Song 4 Mutya (Out of Control)”.In 2009, she released her second solo album, Mutya Buena, which featured the singles “B Boy Baby” and “Just a Little Bit”. She has also collaborated with other artists, including Groove Armada, Mark Ronson, and Amy Winehouse. In addition to her music career, Buena has appeared in the British film Adulthood (2008) and the television series Hotel Babylon (2008).

She also appeared as a judge on the UK version of the talent show The X Factor in 2008.

Electric Pineapple is a fierce London production duo. EP is comprised of Andrew Kingslow & Trina Smith. The pair’s impressive pedigree counts Tiggs Da Author, MIA & Lily Allen & more among their partnerships. Andrew wrote & produced the music for BBC & BAFTA nominated TV show; Rastamouse.
