From Music Gateway we got in contact with Hammadi Boujmal, owner of the prestigious music company Red Square Music (which has among its catalog music which has been featured in 2011 block-buster Limitless and Mega-TV Series Breaking Bad). We wanted to know a bit about his thoughts on Music Gateway and the plans that he holds for the future…
My name is Hammadi, owner of a music company based in the US [Red Square Music] representing mainly American artists and songwriters. However, I am now based in Rome, Italy, so I run things from distance and have been exploring new prospects in the European market.
My experience with Music Gateway has been experimental and rather positive so far. I had posted some projects for a couple of the artists I represent and although I couldn’t get concrete results, there was a networking opportunity that is starting to bear fruits. One producer from London by the name of Chords submitted some beats for acapellas I needed remixes for. The stuff Chords submitted was interesting enough for me to forward to my other artists and affiliates. And now, Chords and artists affiliated to Red Square Music are working on their first collaboration!
My future plans are to explore more possibilities for my US artists and songwriters to do more collaborations and co-writing with producers, writers, and artists. I definitely intend on using Music Gateway to help me achieve this goal, as well as exploring other opportunities.
I think that members should embrace the different possibilities Music Gateway offers and not underestimate how efficient it can be into achieving goals that otherwise would be much more difficult to attain. Going back to my current experience working with Chords, ironically both him and Red Square Music are under the same publishing umbrella in the UK. Yet, we didn’t connect through our UK publisher, which is by the way one of the biggest publishers in the market, but actually it was through Music Gateway that we established contact!
