# Tell us a bit about yourself as an artist

I am an 18-year-old singer/songwriter from London, attending East London Arts & Music. As a performer, I sing in the singer/songwriter genre and regularly perform my own original songs at various venues around London including The Troubadour, The Spice of Life, The Water Rats, The Bedford, The Garage & The Borderline amongst others. I have also performed on London Live TV & Balcony TV and my song FLY was chosen for the Balcony TV up coming compilation album “Live From The Outside” due for release in March. Although I love performing my main passion is Songwriting & I have been writing my own songs from a very young age. Over the last year, I have been lucky enough to have some very intimate song writing masterclasses with the likes of Jamie Cullum, Plan B, Maverik Sabre, Etta Bond, Katy B, Kacey Musgraves amongst others which has really helped. I also try and network & collaborate as much as possible with other songwriters signed and unsigned and working from my home studio also gives me the opportunity to collaborate with some amazing producers not only in the UK but also from abroad

#What do you think about the Aston Origin mic & Halo Reflection Filter?

AMAZING!! Together they have made such a big difference to the quality of my vocal. The built-in pop filter on the origin works great and the mic alone gives a very clear crisp vocal, very high quality. Together with the Halo reflection filter, it is the perfect combination. No other sounds can be picked up other than the voice or guitar in front of the mic. It looks great too!!

#What is the importance of having the right recording?

To me, it is very important! When collaborating remotely it means that I always need to make sure I can deliver a crisp vocal. This is also very important when the track is being mixed. With the right equipment being used with a home studio it will save you money and time in the long run too. In the past, I have had to go over and over trying to get it right but so far with the Aston things are done in 1 or 2 takes.

#How do you think the new equipment will help when pitching on other opportunities?

When pitching demo’s it’s important that the song is as ‘close to the finished product’ as possible. With the Aston Mic, you are more than capable of delivering the highest quality of vocal which is what is needed! It also gives me the opportunity to deliver my best vocal for producers to work with. This will give me the best chance to submit high quality fully produced songs too.

#How has the platform helped you develop as an artist?

Before I found Music Gateway I was very limited to what I was able to do. I had a library of songs, but nobody to produce them and a library of songs, with no idea how to pitch them for projects. Since joining Music Gateway I have been able to work with some amazing producers. Songs that have been sitting there for a while are now coming to life. New songs that I write are quickly worked on. I was limited to writing in one genre but I now top line for various DJ’s/producers in various genres from EDM to Pop and in between. I am now able to pitch on projects pretty much on a weekly basis as there are so many opportunities each week – something that would not have been possible without music gateway

#What’s next for yourself?

At the moment I am taking it one day at a time. I will keep performing, have gigs lined up and possibly some festivals over the summer. There are lots of things in the pipeline!! I am currently working on various projects with different producers and songwriters and I will continue to do so. Hopefully, I will be releasing some of the songs that I have been working on in the near future.

University is also an option for me in September to study Songwriting!!

I am keeping very busy!!
