You never know, you might just discover your new favourite movie thanks to us!

10. Joy (2015)

best business movies

This is one of the best business movies based on a real-life story, as you will no doubt be able to relate to the struggles of the characters.

Jennifer Lawrence plays the character of Joy Mangano, a business entrepreneur. We first meet her when she’s living in a run-down house with her two children, her grandma, her parents, and her ex-husband.

Everything looks pretty bleak for her, until she comes up with an idea for a cleaning product – the Miracle Mop. Despite dealing with family issues and a crumbling house, Joy continues to pursue her idea, and succeeds! In real life, Joy is a multimillionaire!

So, if you’re looking to watch the best motivational business movies, then look no further than Joy. Lawrence’s performance impressed so much that she landed the awards for Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and the Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actress: Drama.

9. The Founder (2016)

the founder

This movie is the retelling of how the fast-food giant McDonald’s came into being. It follows the businessman Ray Kroc who is fascinated by the fact that food can be made and served in 30 seconds, as opposed to 30 minutes.

This is one of the best business movies to watch, as you get to witness Kroc’s unwavering determination to make the restaurant the best that it can be.

Fair warning: watching the movie will leave you craving a McDonald’s meal!

8. The Big Short (2015)

best business movies

This film follows the financial crisis that occurred from 2007-2008 due to the United States housing crash. It brings together huge names like Steven Carrell, Brad Pitt, and Ryan Gosling.

While the movie examines serious issues, the film tackles it in an effective way, and there are moments of light-heartedness in there as well. Plus, there are some cameos from some very famous actors and actresses, and these are fun to look out for.

We won’t spoil the surprises – go and watch the movie for yourself! The Big Short movie was awarded many accolades, including the Academy Award for Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay) and Producers Guild of America Award for Best Theatrical Motion Picture.

7. Moneyball (2011)

moneyball

Are you looking for the best business movies on Netflix? If so, then we recommend that you check out Moneyball! While it may not be considered a traditional business movie, there are certainly lots of lessons that you can take away from it and apply to your own life.

Brad Pitt plays Billy Beane, who is determined to make changes to the way that he decides on the roster for the Oakland Athletics baseball team. In our book, it’s one of the best business movies because it shows you that sometimes changes must be made to help you win.

Moneyball picked up plenty of awards, such as New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Screenplay, Boston Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actor, and the AFI Movie of the Year.

6. The Devil Wears Prada (2006)

best business movies

The Devil Wears Prada has to be one of the best business movies on Amazon Prime! It follows the story of aspiring journalist Andy as she interviews for a job at Runway Magazine.

She’s not writing anything though – she’s the new assistant of the terrifying Miranda Priestly, played by the incredible Meryl Streep. Andy is at the permanent beck and call for her boss and gets no thanks out of it.

So, what makes this one of the best business movies? Well, you can consider it a guide on what not to do! As doing well as your job sometimes means that the other areas of your life suffer.

Plus, the soundtrack is super fun to listen to, as it contains hits like Vogue by Madonna and City of Blinding Lights by U2.

5. Erin Brockovich (2000)

best business movies

It seems like a lot of good business movies are based on true stories, and this movie is no exception. It’s based on the real-life story of Erin Brockovich who engaged in a legal battle against Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) and won!

She helps the residents get justice for their health issues caused by the company. It’s an inspiring movie that shows that you should always stand up for what you believe is right – even if that means going up against huge corporate businesses.

Check out this movie today, we’re sure it will inspire you!

4. The Social Network (2010)

the social network

We think that this movie will remain one of the best business movies forever! It’s based around the creation of the social media platform Facebook

It follows Mark Zuckerberg and his launch of the platform in his college dorm room. It’s not a smooth path, as he stabs his most trusted friend Eduardo Saverin in the back along the way.

Zuckerberg is also engaged in multiple intense lawsuits. The film is packed full of drama, you’ll find yourself unable to look away from the screen.

You can learn plenty of lessons from this movie – like the value of trust and not to prioritise success over friendship.

3. Steve Jobs (2015)

best business movies

It’s highly likely that you’ll have heard of Steve Jobs – but this film really lets you dive into his mind.

He is played by the brilliant Michael Fassbender and the screenplay was written by Aaron Sorkin (who also wrote the Social Network).

The movie follows the ups and downs in the personal and business life of the Apple founder.

Who knows, this movie could end up inspiring you to try and emulate his business success?

2. The Wolf Of Wall Street (2013)

the wolf of wall street

This has got to be one of the best business movies ever made! It’s shocking, hilarious, and inspiring all in one!

It follows the life of Jordan Belfort (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) and his fast-growing brokerage. Soon he and his colleagues have more money than they know what to do with… oh, and they have broken a few laws as well.

The movie has garnered many awards, such as The Empire Award for Best Female Newcomer, MTV Movie Award Best Comedic Performance, Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, and many more!

This is a great movie to watch with your friends… we wouldn’t necessarily watch this one with your family though! The Wolf of Wall Street is one of the best business movies on Netflix, so what are you waiting for? Watch it tonight!

1. FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened (2019)

best business movies

This is the only documentary movie on our list, but if you’ve seen it, we think you’ll agree with our decision to put it at the number one spot!

It follows the idea and work that went on behind the scenes to put the Fyre music festival together, and you get to watch as it all unravels.

It will no doubt inspire you to do everything you can to prevent your business idea from turning out like this!

This film is definitely a lesson in what not to do, but it also demonstrates that you need to be ethical in how you conduct yourself and your business.
