1. MIDEM

Perhaps the most notable networking event in the industry, Midem has been uniting labels, managers, performing rights organisations and many of the key players for decades and continues to make a name for itself as the biggest international networking event in the music industry.
Located in the beautiful setting of the Palais Des Festivals Conference Centre, Cannes, France, Their primary goal is to push the boundaries of the industry and help create a more level playing field for artists, their teams and consumers with forward-thinking innovative ideas and discussions based on market research and statistics.
It was the perfect place to meet like-minded people, exchange ideas and information while making a name for yourself among some of the most important figures in the music ecosystem. If you want to know about what trends will be shaping the future of music, then Midem is the one for you and they never disappoint.

2. ADE

The 2020 edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is in store to be a big one. It’s the 25th anniversary of the popular event in the electronic dance community and in the industry as a whole.
The event was huge, boasting a lineup of 2500 artists, 600 speakers & 1000 events in 200 venues it’s no wonder ADE gets a place in our top 10. With 5 days and nights of dancing, networking, partying and making waves in the EDM community located in one of the most colourful cities on the globe, it was one of our favourite networking events of the year.
If you want to get to grips with better music promotion and PR strategy or scout the best up-and-coming talent this place has it all.

3. REEPERBAHN FESTIVAL
Event Dates: 16th – 19th Sept 2020

Location: Hamburg, Germany
Spanning 600 concerts and 240 conference programs wide, Reeperbahn Festival covers everything from live performances and music to film & literature and virtual reality.
Since 2006 this festival has grown immensely while being talked about as one of the main networking events to go to due to its diversity. Early bird tickets are always available (we bagged ours) and walk-up rates are usually announced shortly after.

4. WINTER MUSIC CONFERENCE (WMC)
Event Dates: 25th – 28th March

Location: Miami, USA
Despite the name, Winter Music Festival is based on one of the sun-soaked beaches of Miami Beach, Florida.
It’s here you can learn while sharing your skills and enjoy meeting like-minded people. Its main focus is on the dance music industry, music culture, new technology and dance music education in these fields.
2019 was the 35th anniversary of this event since its humble beginnings back in 1985. It features a main stage featuring carefully selected speakers discussing a wide variety of many topics as well as an exhibition area displaying some of the best hardware and software in electronic music with demonstrations and “how-to” sessions.
In addition to this, you also get access to nightlife programming with events, live performances and the opening party depending on what package you go with.
Now we didn’t manage to make it to this one as the whole pandemic thing was in full force, but if you get the opportunity to go we highly recommend it.

5. IMS
Event Dates: 21st – 26th June 2020

Location: Ibiza, Spain
Based in both Asia and Ibiza, the party Central of Spain, IMS (international music summit) is another industry event focused primarily on electronic dance music and dance labels.
Its speakers include those in radio & PR as well as magazine editors and executives at some of the top dance labels around. You’ll learn what they’re looking for, how to better position yourself for success and how to cut through the noise of today’s competitive industry.
There are also talks and interviews with guests on a wide range of topics including mental health in the music industry to detailing how integrating fashion with music can give you the advantage you need. If you get the chance to go next year – you won’t be disappointed.

A major event for those looking to excel their careers in music & business, BBC Introducing Live is a must for anyone looking to take their career to the next level and learn vital information about the industry and how it works.
Expect talks from performing rights organisations on how to make the most from your airplay and live performances to information on financing for aspiring label heads and self-funded artists.
There are also talks on advanced topics such as the widely overlooked but crucial area of music publishing and how to position yourself for securing sync placements in film & TV.

Based in Brighton’s iconic i360 complex and referred to as the UK’s foremost electronic music conference, which isn’t, unfortunately, a free conference, but this event and it’s sub-events make up one of the biggest conferences on the map.
There are networking & club events to meet like-minded people and develop those vital industry relationships as well as talks on technology and how it drives the modern music industry from service providers, technology companies and suppliers.

8. THE GREAT ESCAPE

Showcasing 500 emerging artists from all over the world, the great escape is the place to go to potentially meet some of the leading industry icons of tomorrow.
Artists from all locations & walks of life come together to play 30 music venues all within walking distance of each other and just a stone’s throw from Brighton beach.
It’s no surprise this event is also attended by some of the main gatekeepers in music business looking for the next big thing to take to the next level.
Aside from the secret gigs, spotlight shows and club events, there’s also a largely attended conference with topic debates and keynote speeches from industry professionals. The conference also features networking opportunities for those who prefer to keep business and partying separate and establish working relationships in a more focused environment.
