Music Gateway is a market-leading, SaaS product for the music and creative industries. The platform educates the independent music market in standard business practices whilst offering a wide range of tools & opportunities to help individuals and companies succeed including major clients including Universal, BMG, Redbull and more.

We are looking to expand our technical team with an enthusiastic UX/UI Web Developer who has a passion for combining the art of design with the art of programming. A passion for front-end development is a must along with the desire to achieve good design, usability, accessibility, performance, and mobile/responsive web pages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create world-class products and experiences that make people’s lives simply better
  • Increase the number of users regularly interacting with the products through ease of use
  • Development of new user-facing features and improvement of existing features
  • Translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual and responsive UI components
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Cooperation with the back-end developers

The ideal candidate should demonstrate a good understanding of working in an office environment with the ability to be self-motivated, self-managed and highly organised. The role will also give the successful candidate the opportunity to make a huge impact on the UI & UX design for a leading music industry SAAS product as well as cross-train using in-demand technologies like Laravel and Vue.

Design Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong eye for design and finishing touches
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of User Experience best practices

Programming Skills and Knowledge:

  • HTML
  • CSS (SASS, SCSS & LESS)
  • Responsive CSS frameworks (Semantic UI, Bulma or Bootstrap)
  • Javascript, Jquery
  • Demonstrable web development skills with a strong portfolio
  • Smarty PHP / Blade or other templating
  • GIT

Advantageous traits and knowledge:

  • Understanding of sales funnels / commercial awareness
  • Knockout JS (we’re migrating away from this)
  • Vue / React (we’re migrating to Vue)
  • OOP PHP MVC
  • Laravel (we’re migrating to Laravel)
  • SAAS experience
  • E-commerce experience
  • Any other programming/design experience
  • Hobby projects/side hustles
  • Interest in the music industry
