CD Baby is searching for a Manager in the Creator Services department focused on bringing new artists and content owners into CD Baby as well as the AVL Digital family of brands, which include CD Baby along with DashGo, AdRev, Show.co and more.

Successful candidates will possess extensive music industry contacts, excellent sales prowess, communication skills, strong self-management and thrive in evangelizing services that help artists and content owners grow their careers and revenue.

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS

  • Responsible for owning and growing new client acquisition and brand awareness in the artist and music management community for the Creator Services team, an internal VIP Artist Relations and Promotions team performing Label Services. (In recent months, the team’s release schedule has included Aloe Blacc, Ingrid Michaelson and tracks featuring Diplo, Bad Bunny and Cardi B.)
  • Leverage existing relationships and seek new ones within the artist, songwriter, management and label community
  • Evangelize CD Baby’s distribution, monetization and promotional services and expand the brand awareness of AVL Digital companies (primarily CD Baby, AdRev, Show.co, Ad Builder, DashGo, Soundrop and HearNow)
  • Engage with potential and existing clients via outreach, meetings, events and concerts
  • Collaborate with the Los Angeles offices of music services regarding client marketing opportunities generated by the Artist Relations and Promotions team
  • Structure, report and document client prospect activity with a goal of prioritizing efforts and finalizing projects
  • Consistently focus on retaining and increasing the roster of key clients
  • Manage relationships with key clients brought in or as identified by the team as a priority, assisting with questions and troubleshooting as appropriate, and meeting all necessary deadlines as they arise
  • Work with Artist Relations, Digital Operations and Customer Service teams to handle client issues and questions
  • Assist with growing the presence of CD Baby Sync Licensing in the Los Angeles Music Supervisor community in partnership with the CD Baby Sync Lead and an LA-based Sync Consultant
  • Synergize client opportunities and event involvement with AVL Digital’s LA-based staff at AdRev and DashGo
  • Ability to identify and be aware of both present and future music trends and growth opportunities across any genre
  • Attend events and meetings on behalf of AVL Digital
  • Supporting continuous improvement, LEAN, and other process improvement/efficiency efforts
  • Participating in product launches, meetings, training, and projects as requested
  • Consistently prove an outstanding ability to set and meet deadlines independently while exhibiting a high-level of initiative in both researching & seeking out ways to grow the CD Baby and AVL Digital client base
  • Flexibility in work hours – must be able to work non-standard schedule to attend meetings, concerts, conferences, industry events, and to generally meet the needs and goals
  • Additional duties and projects
  • Some travel may be required

SKILLS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Broad music industry contacts in the artist, management and content owner space
  • Confidence and passion for sales/signing and evangelism of products/services
  • Excellent communication skills, both in a b2b and b2c environment
  • Strong attention to details, highly organized & extremely motivated
  • Ability to self-manage and multi-task with a proactive approach to balancing and prioritizing workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Diligence of managing flow of prospects and closing deals
  • Proactive and positive approach with ability to independently initiate tasks and follow through to completion
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion building relationships
  • Outstanding analytical research skills
  • Robust & ongoing understanding of the music industry, including music distribution, A&R, licensing and key trends
  • Positive attitude with excellent time and stress management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Based in Los Angeles at our DashGo office (Century City) and/or our AdRev office (Sherman Oaks)
  • Educational Requirements: As a minimum, College Degree or Equivalent
  • Experience Required: Minimum 4 years of music industry experience (experience in one or more of the following environments preferred: streaming service, record label, artist management, music PR, booking agency)
