Position: DIGITAL CONTENT & COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

The BPI is looking to recruit a passionate, creative and strategically driven Digital Content & Communications Manager to work across its digital, social media and press & PR channels.
Reporting to the Communications Director, the role will focus on generating content for and managing the BPI’s social media and digital output, while also contributing to the BPI’s internal and external communications in support of the organisation’s communications and public affairs strategy and wider goals.
The Digital Content & Communications Manager will in particular be responsible for generating content and managing activity and campaigns across the BPI’s social media accounts and digital platforms. The role will support the Communications and other departments as they work to actively promote the BPI and its brands and projects across its various platforms along with the rights, interests and reputation of its members and of the wider recorded music sector.

Based at the BPI’s County Hall head office on Westminster Bridge Road, the role would most likely suit a candidate looking to move on from their first professional role.

- Planning, creation and implementation of content and regular content calendars.
- Generating digital/other engaging content in support of BPI activity/campaigns, incl. graphic design/infographics, visual content and editing, written articles/press releases and more.
- Managing, updating and maintaining the BPI social media channels, website and homepages, and other sites and platforms as required (such as for The BRIT Trust and National Album Day).
- Creating and distributing regular social and digital analytics and other reports.
- Ensuring that the BPI has a strong online voice to reflect its industry profile and public affairs objectives, and is engaged in the wider conversation around the business of music.
- Creating presentations, reports, flyers, advertisements and other digital and written content for BPI departments – ensuring this is produced in the correct tone and on-brand for the organisation.
- Supporting the Communications Director in drafting/approving producing, distributing and ‘selling in’ comments, announcements and press releases to media, as directed.
- Generating new and innovative ideas to promote the BPI and support its initiatives including the Music Export Growth Scheme, Insight Sessions, Wisdom Wednesdays and more.
- Attending events to represent the BPI and to capture content through photography or videography.
- Supporting BPI-related partners/suppliers in the delivery of digital campaigns such as for the BRIT Awards, BRIT Certified Awards, Mercury Prize and National Album Day, as directed.
- Providing general administrative support to the Communications department, such as raising purchase orders for invoices and collating/generating media monitoring reports.
- 2+ years minimum experience working in social media/digital communications and PR – most likely suited to an individual moving on from their first professional role.
- A passion for digital marketing and music and always on top of the latest trends.
- Strong writing skills to create engaging copy, press releases and long form written content.
- Experience working across a variety of CMS and social media platforms.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (or other graphic design and video editing software).
- Strong attention to detail.
- A good eye for creative and attention-grabbing content, ‘telling a story’ in an engaging way.
- Understanding/sensitivity to and experience of the public affairs/policy landscape.
